I design at the human scale.

I am a story-telling, problem-solving, dog-loving designer fueled by a mean cup of espresso.

Whether it is creating an app to help people tackle sobriety or producing a waterfront design strategy that helps New Yorkers to adapt to rising sea levels, I believe in design is a tool that can help untangle social and physical challenges, bridge the gap between technology and human interaction, and create meaningful change for the lives of others.

Trained in architecture and urban design, I have taken my critical thinking and problem solving skills and applied them to my work in user experience design. I recently completed UC San Diego’s Interaction Design Specialization which allowed me to tailor my skillset to digital spaces and reinforced the importance of rigorous testing and using an iterative design process.

I am proficient in Sketch, Figma, InVision, Adobe (XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, WordPress, Sketchup, AutoCAD, Revit, and Rhino 3D. I am learning HTML and CSS.

A bit about me

I am...

curious + creative

I am inherently a curious person and love explore new ways of doing and making that help me see the world a bit differently. I dive deep into projects that allow me to be creative, but sill require measured precision. In my spare time I can usually be found building furniture, drawing maps, watercolor painting, sailing, or baking bread.

intentional + analytical

One of my most meaningful takeaways from architecture school was to have a reason behind every design decision that I make. As a designer, I question the norms and explore why things are the way they are. I believe that what separates good design from bad is the designers ability to not just ask the right questions, but use empathy and analysis to frame the conversation and get to the real issues.

empathetic

I once read that “design is about changing and managing perceptions and ideas about the world that we live in.”  We all have our own world view, but if we harness our influence through the lens of others, our impact can reach further than we could have ever imagined.

a storyteller

Who doesn’t love a good story! Storytelling plays an important role in communication and business innovation. Beyond marketing, crafting a successful narrative can help align stakeholders behind a shared vision and add clarity to a proposal that numbers and graphics can’t communicate alone.

a collaborator

I have found that the best projects are a result of many ideas from many people of different walks of life who work together toward a common goal. Collaboration and communication are soft skills that are often overlooked, however, these skills are essential and when not cultivated, can negatively impact the end product.

a lifelong learner

Humans are a constant work in progress and need feedback to grow. Every time I start a new project, I am excited and humbled by everything I don’t know. I am always looking to improve and to ask the right person for help. It takes vulnerability and humility to truly grow into the best version of yourself.
